Life Enrichment Children/Teens

The Arc’s Life Enrichment Program (a direct-care program) for children/teens provides after-school, holiday and all-day summer care for children and teens ages 5-18 with moderate to severe developmental disabilities such as Down syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy.  The Arc’s child care program (5-12) is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services serving children with I/DD, making these services all the more vital to the community.  The Arc requires supervision of one staff person for every four children.  The goal of The Arc’s Life Enrichment Program for children is to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment that enhances quality of life.

The children and teen program (13-18*) offers structured activities and therapeutic play that give children and teens with special needs an opportunity to experience sensory stimulation, to develop fine and gross motor skills, learn to follow instructions, practice working in groups, and have fun socializing with friends.

*After school, summer and holiday care is available for teens/young adults (18-22) who are still in high school.
